Brandon and Lauren Madar

BMM Racing began back in the mid-90s when Brandon Madar purchased a 1967 Ford Mustang coupe from his brother. Back then, the Mustang was a black-cherry colored street drag car. We put lots of work into it, but in 1999, while it was in the garage up on jacks in the midst of having leaf springs replaced, a garage fire consumed the Mustang, rendering it a total loss. We were both heartbroken at this disaster, but at the time we were saving up to purchase our first home and had to bid a temporary farewell to any thoughts of restoring the burnt-out shell.

Brandon was briefly tempted by oval-track racing and in 2003-2004, raced the #77 MiniCup Truck with the Western New York MiniCup Club. You can see photos of the truck and races at our other racing site, vanillagorillaracing.com. But due to racetrack politics, excessively limiting and biased rules and the few tracks that the club would race at, we sold the MiniCup in spring of 2006 to Mr. Alan Mason, who belongs to a club in Virginia that is more flexible, and hopefully the #77 truck is getting a lot of track time at it's new southern home!

However, we just didn't have the heart to part with the Mustang during all those years, and right now it's undergoing reconstruction to become a fully-fledged drag racing machine. It will not see the slow, boring roads of this world again - it is destined for the 1/4 and 1/8 mile tracks of the country. Brandon is currently reframing the rear end of the car and preparing to redesign the rollcage. We're also dreaming about possible colors that the Mustang will wear when it's "all better" - the above color is a possibility we're considering (ain't Photoshop wonderful?).

To replace the Mustang as a cruising car, we now have a 1954 Pontiac Chieftain that we've painted flat black and are currently in the process of rechroming the trim.
